National Wraparound Childcare Programme
The National Wraparound Childcare Programme is a government initiative aimed at providing accessible childcare for primary school-aged children in England.
The program, announced in the 2023 Spring Budget, seeks to ensure that by 2026, all parents who need it can access term-time childcare from 8 am to 6 pm in their local area, facilitating better employment opportunities for parents. The government is investing £289 million over two years to support this expansion, which includes before and after school care. The programme is designed to support working families and improve labor market participation.
